DAVROM CONSULTING is pleased to announce the release of its Internet Gateway Server. This server will provide your organisation with complete access to the Internet via modem or ADSL (depending on your ISP connection).

The price for the hardware, installation and setup: $2370.00 (AUD incl GST)

What is its function?

The Internet Gateway Server acts as the central access point to the Internet for your organisation providing e-mail retrieval, web proxy serving and general Internet access (such as telnet and ftp). As it is a web based server running Apache it can be configure to host your own web site.

What is included?

Mini Tower PC (800-900Mhz, 20GB HDD, 128MB RAM, 15" Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard)
1 x 56K Modem
1 x Internal Ethernet card
(1 x 12 months return to base warranty on hardware)

  • Complete setup of the Linux environment to facilitate access to the Internet via modem dialup or ADSL.
  • Setup of the required e-mail accounts on the web server.
  • Configuration of the Proxy and DNS components.
  • Setup of a "basic" initial home page.
  • Setup of an internal home page that can be the central access point for PC internal to your organisation.
  • Setup of general monitoring statistics that can be view via web browser.

    What is not included?

  • The provision of access to an ISP - dialup or ADSL.

  • You will be required to arrange a connection to an ISP and we can assist you with liaising with the ISP regarding the connection requirements. This is not very difficult and costs depend on your budget and the method of Internet connection (modem or ADSL). ISPs can provide you with costs for connection plans offered via their service. If you have an existing connection via modem (using Windows perhaps) or ADSL to the Internet then the Internet Gateway Server will simply take over this role.

  • Domain name registration - DAVROM CONSULTING can assist with the application via your ISP for a registered Internet Domain name should you choose to have one. The ideal here is to have your server on the Internet with your ISP routing all traffic (e-mail, www access etc) destined for your domain (eg., www.davrom.com) to your Internet Gateway Server.

  • Building of a complete website.

    DAVROM CONSULTING will install a "basic" home page which will at least allow some initial web presence. Additional development of your own website can later be performed by DAVROM CONSULTING or at least we can put you in touch with web site developers.

  • In the case where ADSL is installed then two ethernet cards will be provided and a 56K modem will not be required or provided.

    In the case of ADSL connections, provision of an additional 56K modem is not included in the price of the Internet Gateway Server package but can be provided on request.

    Options and Terms

    If you have your own hardware then DAVROM CONSULTING can provide the same service, priced on application.

    If purchasing the entire package from DAVROM CONSULTING, payment terms are C.O.D.
